Geert Bruynseels is Event Expert Sport at EventFlanders, where he plays a central role in managing high-profile international sporting events within Flanders. EventFlanders seeks to maximise the impact of Flemish major events, socially, reputationally and economically. Commisioned by the Flemish government, Geert coordinated multiple World and European Championships, with the 2021 UCI Road World Championships as one of the flagship events. In 2025, EventFlanders hosted the European Running Championships in Leuven, which drew 28 000 runners and over 180 000 spectators, and the UCI Para Cycling Road World Championships in Ronse.
