Event Sector Congress 2025 cover image

Impact

Impact in general and sustainability in particular - both ecologically and socially - is at the heart of the Event Sector Congress. We want to create a congress that not only inspires, but also cares for our planet and the people who take part.

On this page, you can discover the sustainability actions we are putting into practice to make that vision real. We use the “Guidelines for Sustainable Conferences & Events developed by Flanders Convention Bureau, and we will also provide an accessibility brochure.

Our sustainability actions

We aim to create an event that not only inspires, but also takes responsibility for its impact. To achieve this, we focus on a number of key themes that are closely connected and reinforce each other. In the weeks ahead, we will continue to shape and specify these actions, turning our commitment into concrete impact.

  • Inclusion & diversity
We are committed to hosting a congress that is accessible and inclusive for everyone - ensuring a barrier-free experience, clear communication, and a warm welcome, so that all participants feel valued and fully engaged.
  • Event location
Our choice of Asiat Park reflects our focus on sustainability, the revitalisation of a unique site, and the power of inspiring spaces.
  • Mobility
The venue is easily accessible by public transport, and we actively encourage sustainable alternatives such as shared mobility and cycling.
  • Catering
We partner with a caterer whose commitment to sustainability is second nature. Their products are local, organic, natural, fair, artisanal, and of the highest quality. All dishes are freshly prepared from scratch for our event, minimising food waste. Fruit and vegetable choices are guided by the rhythm of the seasonal harvest.
  • Materials & waste
We take steps to reduce waste and promote circular use of materials. This means prioritising reusable or recyclable resources and opting for solutions that extend their lifespan.
  • Carbon footprint
We are actively measuring our ecological footprint. By gaining insight into the CO₂ impact of the congress, we can make future-oriented choices - such as greener mobility, conscious catering, and energy-efficient solutions - to structurally reduce our overall climate impact.

During the session WALK THE TALK, we will share our approach, insights, and results of the sustainability actions we have taken at this congress.

We want to make our congress as accessible and inclusive as possible. Do you have specific needs or require support to participate fully? Please let us know via info@event-confederation.be, so that we can work together to ensure you have an enjoyable experience.
